Tools to Navigate your Emotions during Eclipse Season

May is packed full of intense cosmic energy.

We are heading to the Full Moon in Scorpio which is also a rare Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse on May 15/16.

A Total Lunar Eclipse or Blood Moon Eclipse always falls on a Full Moon and is the most powerful Lunar energy we can experience.

Since this Blood Moon Eclipse comes shortly after the New Moon Solar Eclipse at the end of April, we are truly in the midst of powerful Eclipse Energy.

You know how powerful a Full Moon can be.

Well, imagine the strength of that multiplied a thousand times!

What is a Lunar Eclipse?

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth is between the Moon and the Sun, hiding the Moon from sunlight.

Instead the shadow of the Earth falls on the surface of the Moon.

The reason it is known as a Blood Moon is that the only light that reaches the surface of the Moon comes from the edges of the Earth’s atmosphere.

The light that reflects on the Moon has a red tint, which gives the Moon its name, Blood Moon as it appears red in the night sky.

In spiritual and emotional terms, a Total Lunar Eclipse is a reset of a cycle, a climax, and a symbol of ending, completion, and closure.

The shadow of the eclipse reveals all that we have been hiding in our subconscious.

Those obstacles that stop us from walking in our highest paths.

Just as the Full Moon represents our deepest emotions and a time to let go and release things that are no longer aligned with us, Lunar Eclipses encourage us to cleanse and remove everything that is holding us back.

The great news is that the powerful energy of this particular Eclipse season is lasting us all through the Spring and actually into the Summer.

If you act now on this energy, you may see some amazing changes in your life as the year goes by.

There is a lot of potential for change if you are taking positive action AND if you are willing to look at what needs to be released from your life.

When we hear that an Eclipse can trigger the edges, we can understand being anxious about what it might look like for us.

I’m here to tell you not to worry!

While it is true that all this healthy, Eclipse energy is guiding us to close the door in an area of our lives, this is not necessarily a bad thing.

Eclipses open our eyes to things that need to be removed in order to walk on our highest path.

This can mean the end of relationships, work contracts, friendships, or even moving to a new place BUT it can also mean the end of a way of being, thinking, or acting.

Eclipse will not remove anything beneficial to you from your life.

So any endings you experience will actually be the Universe doing you a big favor, removing toxic situations from your life!

All this powerful energy will bring you the courage you need to step out of your comfort zone and more fully into your highest self.

Trust the direction you are being shown, as Eclipses will always bring you back to what is best for you and your highest path.

Of course growth and evolution can be challenging, so while change is uncomfortable and can lead to fear of the unknown, this discomfort is totally natural.

The more grounded, calm and connected to this energy you are, the easier it will be for you to stay centered during any chaotic moment.

I’ve put together some tools and techniques to help you navigate this emotional time!

Process it on the Page

I’m a huge journal fan at the best of times.

This Eclipse season can make you feel emotional, nostalgic, or very aware of the impermanence of life.

Feel your emotions and let them pass through you and be transmuted.

A great way to do this is to write down everything you’re feeling sad about.

It is such a great exercise to get into a daily habit.

You are not writing a novel here, no one will read it!

Download your thoughts and clear any stuck or stagnant energy by releasing it all onto the pages of your journal.

Release Energy in Water

As you work through any challenges or tough decisions, releasing energy is vital.

You don’t want negative energy to remain stored in your body, which can cause emotional and physical problems down the line.

As you process your feelings and go deep into the healing work, find relief by bathing in the water.

Whether it is fresh water, the ocean, or a long bath or shower, the purification, cleansing, and The healing effect of water on your emotional, mental, spiritual and physical body is immense.

Land and Center in Nature

Connecting with Mother Earth never fails to rejuvenate and sustain me in times of difficulty or heaviness.

If you feel confused or unsure about decisions you may need to make, or simply feel a little burnt out you may feel the need to be quiet and reconnect your energy.

The Eclipse can make us want to withdraw and be quiet and alone, and that’s a good thing.

Conserving your energy is important.

When you reflect and become still, you can experience awakening and deeper realizations about your life that are necessary to move forward.

Walking in nature, being with trees or flowers and plants, or listening to the waves of the ocean or the babble of a stream can be so energizing and soothing to the your soul

Spiritual Self-Care

Take time every day to do something that nourishes your spirit.

It might be lighting your favorite candles and turning off your phone for an hour.

Take an indulgent bath with rose petals and essential oils.

Go running or dance with your friends.

Don’t neglect yourself, in fact, make your emotional self a priority every day.

This will always be unique to you, so don’t put limitations on what you do.

The most precious way to spend this time is truly to connect with your inner self.

Protect yourself from negativity and toxicity.

Put your physical, spiritual and emotional well-being first and you will sail through any bump in the road with ease.

Wishing you all a wonderful and beautiful Eclipse season.
