7 Ways to Heal Your Sacral Chakra For Motivation and Energy

The Sacral Chakra is the second major root of the seven main chakras of the body, and one of the most important energy centers of your body. It is the epicenter of life and vitality, extremely vital to your energy, connection with others and sexuality.

It is from this chakra that your creativity, motivation, sense of purpose and energy flow.

It is from this chakra that you feel excited to wake up in the morning with a sense of joy to be alive and look forward to every day of your life.

The Sacral Chakra is located about 2 inches below your navel, halfway between your belly button and the base of your spine.
The experience of a blocked Sacral Chakra is quite common, at some point everyone will have their own mind and bring it back to balance.

The good news is that there are some very easy, soothing and accessible ways to balance your Sacral Chakra and you can easily incorporate these into your life to recharge and restore your vibrancy and well-being.

How do you know if your Sacral Chakra needs balancing?

Signs of a blocked Sacral Chakra include:

How do you balance your Sacred Chakra?

I like to take a varied approach to balancing my Sacral Chakra, including physical, mental, emotional and energetic ways of healing.

This way there is something for everyone, whether you prefer healing with food, affirmations, breathing, meditation or yoga. There is always another perspective to take or another activity to try.

Do them all, or use what works for you, and leave the rest.

1. Eat to Cherish your Sacral Chakra

The color related to the sacral chakra is orange, so adding more orange-based foods to your diet is a great way to get into alignment with that chakra.

Think Sweet potatoes, pumpkins, carrots, mangoes, nuts and seeds, butternut squash, orange citrus, tangerines, clementines, nectarines, peaches, melons and fermented foods like Kombucha and Kimchi are excellent.

2. Healing with Orange Crystals

Tigers Eye, Carnelian, Citrine, Orange Carnelian and Amber are all wonderful crystals for the Sacral Chakra.
The best way to incorporate crystals into your healing is to meditate with them, either holding them in your palm or lying with the crystals on your body.

You can create a crystal grid in your home or place these crystals next to you while you work or do your daily chores.

3. Deep belly breathing

Doing deep belly breathing is an amazing way to recharge some vibrant energy and balance your Sacral Chakra. Our breath is the most natural way we have to move stuck or stagnant emotions in the body, it is truly an incredible tool that you can use every day.

Fire is also the natural element of this chakra, so deep breaths in the belly/sacral area work to activate and harness that energy.

Place your hands on your belly and breathe deeply, as you feel your belly and ribcage expanding. Fill as much as you can and then leave. Do this as often as necessary, but at least 5 times. As you exhale and release you feel your stress evaporate and as you inhale, feel the energy of that chakra firing up again in a healthy way.

4. Yoga Poses

You can move stagnant or blocked energy with some hip opening positions and light stretches that help the abominable muscles.
Try cat/cow pose, warrior pose, goddess pose and butterfly pose to move some energy into the Sacral Chakra.

Dance and movement are also a beautiful way to release energy and tap into your true essence. Unleash yourself with music, improvise and free flow! Be brave. You’ll feel amazing afterwards I promise!

5. Meditate and be Still

It is important to take the time to be quiet and let your mind settle. An overactive or stagnant Sacral Chakra can indicate a need to get in touch with your emotions and process them.

Set aside ten minutes of quiet each day in which you simply allow yourself to relax and your mind becomes present. This is a wonderful time to hold one of your orange crystals in your hand while meditating.

You can also picture your sacral energy center filling with radiant orange light and healing in a healthy and balanced way.

6. Affirmations and Mantras

After meditating is a great time to recite some affirmative mantras to boost your Chakra energy. Try to recite the following every morning. It may seem strange at first but it gets easier the longer you stick with it. Try to feel the truth of each mantra and you will begin to rewire your mind in a positive way.

  • I have the dedication, passion and motivation to live my dreams.

7. Creative Work

Do something creative to engage with your emotions, whether it’s journaling, writing poetry, drawing or taking pictures.
When you draw out your creativity it awakens and activates the energy of the Sacral Chakra, moving and flowing again. This can be incredible for raising your frequency and making you feel strong, powerful and confident.

Chakra balancing is something you can get better at the more you do it. These practices will help you re-flow that energy in a strong and healthy way and support you on your path to confidence, happiness, abundance and self-love.
