2021 is upon us and what a welcome change it brings astrologically. 2021 has some similar themes to 2020 during the first half, but it is also full of new and creative energy that will bring expansion, innovation and fresh ideas.
Let’s go ahead and take a look at what we can expect during the month of January 2021 as we start a fresh new year.

The Age of Aquarius
As we have talked about in previous blogs, the Age of Aquarius is now upon us from the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction of December 21st in the zodiac sign of Aquarius. This energy is due to shape and form world events as we move forward. We will see an emphasis on innovation, sharing, and working together for a broader social good and a deep sense of togetherness.
We will be called upon to balance the idea of focusing on our individual needs with those of the wider community. It is not about sacrifice, but rather about a more expansive and connected world that comes from deep personal healing.
2021 is Year 5 in Numerology
According to numerology, 2021 is 5 years. Number 5 year symbolizes all the elements, earth, wind, air, fire and water, which represents our ability to harmonize them and work in unity with them. 5 is also associated with adventure, freedom, and all things creative.
It is also linked to the divine feminine and the womb / female power and fertility. This will allow all of us to take advantage of the energy surrounding the planting of our own metaphorical seeds and see them blossom and grow into manifested reality.

Mars enters Taurus – January 6 – March 3, 2021
Mars has been in Aries since June 2020 and as it enters Taurus it can bring a decrease in your energy. The planet has been in Aries for a particularly long time, and now that it is moving we can probably notice this change quite a bit.
Mars in Taurus can bring a shift in focus towards the practical and financial, bringing any project you’ve been working on during the last half of 2020 into shape.
Capricorn New Moon – January 12th
The first New Moon of 2021 will bring with it strong planetary energy and the chance to focus on what we wish to intend in the new year. It’s time to channel the resourceful, disciplined and hard-working energies of Capricorn and find a way to incorporate them into our long-term lives.
We can also make solid plans, focus on what can be practical and achievable, and move our manifestations with some exceptionally focused and positive energy.
Mars Square Saturn – January 13th
This cosmic alignment can bring energy and intensified tensions and has the possibility to reveal old wounds and trigger sensitive points in all of us, particularly related to everything that was happening to us in the middle of 2020.
It is a time of tension, but also a favorable time to summon the inner strength and dedication to complete any challenging task and see things to a satisfactory conclusion.
Uranus goes Direct – January 14, 2021-
Uranus has been retrograde since August 2020 and will finally go direct on January 14th. This means great news for anyone who wants to make a lasting change in their life. Uranus is the planet of change and this movement brings positive energy that moves forward with momentum and is ideal to take advantage of now before Mercury goes retrograde at the end of January.
Jupiter Square Uranus – January 17, 2020-
Uranus, the planet of change, and Jupiter, the planet of optimism and expansion together will bring a strong, new energy ideal for awakening and bringing a new perspective. This combination can also bring a sudden change, major changes in the direction of life, or new information that comes to the surface and requires a change.
