At the same time, it is also important to let go of unhealthy habits and practices that do not support our highest selves or help us achieve our goals.

Even if they are comfortable, now is the time to reach for freedom from any oppressive restrictions that are holding you back from creating something truly incredible in the years to come.

Let me share a few things you can do to start this wonderful year!

1. Reflect on your life

We all experience change throughout our lives, and these moments of transformation can have a lasting influence on our lives.

We often move through new and distinct phases, which can be thought of as “lives”—childhood, adolescence/early adulthood, “set” maturity and aging.

When I reflect on my own journey in life so far, I can easily identify significant turning points or transformations that have ultimately led to new or distinct ‘lives’.

By allowing my experience to shape me from moment to moment and opening myself to continuous learning, each point of transformation offered an opportunity for growth.

Thinking more about this concept, I also like to consider the big themes or lessons that connect these separate lives—overarching ideas that tie them together as part of my life story.

You should do this too.

Think back on the most happening in your life and see how it changed you.

Is it still useful today? If not, are you willing to let them go?

2. Choose Things That Give Meaning to Your Life

Finding purpose and meaning in life can be difficult, but it is a worthwhile endeavor as it helps shape who you are and how you live.

Ultimate happiness lies in choosing things that fill your life with joy, bring about positive changes, and provide emotional satisfaction.

Of course, this does not mean that you neglect everything else – make sure you find a good balance in your life.

You don’t have to hold on to activities or relationships that no longer spark the same level of enthusiasm or don’t help you move forward – choose what works for you now and let the rest go.

Taking care of yourself should always be at the top of your list of priorities!

3. Write letters to yourself

Writing to yourself is a great way to tap into your inner thoughts and gain self-awareness.

It helps you establish an open dialogue with your internal monologue, allowing you to better understand and reflect on how you are feeling and why.

Writing is a wonderful tool for self-reflection, as it gives you the space to express difficult emotions while discovering more about who you are, where you want to go in life, and what makes you happy.
