Halloween is fast approaching, and it’s time to bring out the costume you’ve probably planned since last year, cutie, and get ready to have a lot of fun. Although Halloween is such a fun event, it still brings some spooky energies this season that can take a toll on your emotional state.

There is also a belief that Halloween creates negative energies as crimes seem to shoot up during this time of year.

Don’t let that energy dampen your Halloween spirits, though! If you feel some of those spooky vibes around you, you can banish them by doing some of these cleansing rituals:

Honor The Thinning Veil & The Departed Ritual

Indeed, one of the most powerful ways to work with ritual is an altar—and you can make one suitable for the holiday. You will feel stronger when you do your ritual if you have a sacred space where you can do energy work in it.

Dedicate a table or side table in your home to honor Halloween. Gather some black and orange candles, crystals, photos or mementos of the dead you wish to honor, and a glass of either water or wine.

Place a candle in the center of the altar and. Place your other objects and distribute them in the Four Directions as they correspond to the element. Light your candles and offer a prayer of gratitude to the souls you wish to honor.

  • Verbena
  • Ragweed
  • Basil
  • Spearmint
  • Chamomile
  • 3 lemons cut crosswise
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tsp. of wheat flour

Make an infusion of all these ingredients (except honey-soap) in hot water, but be careful not to let them boil. Get in the tub or shower and bathe as usual using the honey soap. As you rinse off the soap, think of it as the negativity that washes away. Then, pour the infusion from head to toe and think of all the positive things that are coming into your life right now.

Roots Festival

At this time of year, consider having a root party. You can simply do this by adding roots to your diet. This is the best time of year to add roots to your diet because this is when they are most enriched with nutrients. You can get creative with ginger, lotus root, beets, and other roots that are available at your local grocery store.

You can do this ritual leading up to Halloween. It’s so simple that all you have to do is incorporate roots into your meals at least once a day. On Halloween, you can prepare a root party.
