Harvest Full Moon: Magical Rituals for Your Desires

The Full Moon is a time for self-reflection.

We may be called by the energy of this powerful celestial body, which will reach its peak on September 10, to release what is holding us back from exploring all that life has to offer – whether it means leaving behind something old or starting anew with an open mind!

There is something about this harvest moon and it is giving us a unique energy that we can use for ourselves.

But before we go into the ritual…

Why is it called Harvest Moon?

The harvest moon is the one that occurs closest to the autumnal equinox, which will take place on September 22nd and marks the beginning of autumn as the sun crosses the celestial equator from the north for the south.

The harvest moon gets its name because it rises early in the evening, giving farmers extra time to harvest their summer crops, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac.

Time to Harvest

Similar to the way the moon gives farmers extra time to tend to their crops, this full moon is a harvest time for all of us.

It is a time to plant the seeds of our intention and let our manifestations grow for the days to come.

The day before the full moon, you can set aside time for a simple meditation.

This meditation calls upon the energy of the moon so that you can align your vibration with it before the actual ritual during the full moon day.

Here’s a simple meditation you can try. What you will need:

1. A candle

2. Soft music

  • Choose a place where you can sit comfortably.
  • Place the candle next to you and light it.
  • Turn on background music to set the mood.
  • Close your eyes and think about what you want to manifest. Picture it clearly in your mind.
  • Imagine what you want and let it raise your vibration.
  • Feel yourself surrounded by positivity.
  • Turn your palms raised to the sky, as if receiving blessings from the Divine.
  • Open your eyes and place both palms on your chest

When you do this, you are allowing the Universe to enter your life and bring in what you desire.

Now, onto the ritual itself. You will need:

  1. Clean water
  2. A bowl
  3. Rock salt
  4. Essential oil
  5. Petals of flowers you love

You will do this ritual during the full moon.

The first thing to do is to prepare yourself and clean your energy and the energy around you. Say this affirmation out loud:

“My aura is ready. My space is cleaned. I accept the inner light.”

Next, put all your ingredients in one place – maybe on a table in front of you.

Take your bowl and pour water into it. Now, sprinkle some salt.

As you do this, say this:

“As every salt falls into the water, this is a symbol of letting go of everything that no longer serves me. I am free from what binds me and I am ready to start again.”

Get your flower petals and drop them one by one into the bowl while saying this:

“I welcome the beauty of the world around me. I appreciate and thank for all the blessings that the Divine has given me. My heart is full.”

Now for the essential oil, this is for your energy. Put drops of oil in the water while saying:

“May this sacred oil bring harmony to my mind, body and soul. May it clear my energy and give me a sense of lightness in my intentions.”

You are ready. How did this ritual make you feel?
