The last Mercury retrograde of 2022 is here.

It may be the most dreaded cosmic event, but it’s really not bad.

Yes, I have to admit, when the planets prepare to turn retrograde, I feel a bit uneasy.

Past Mercury Retrogrades have given me things to think about.

Sometimes I lose my keys, misplace my laptop, and my relationship goes on a roller coaster ride.

This is good… We can either blame this powerful cosmic event or we can make do with what we have and turn it into something beautiful.

So, what is Mercury Retrograde?

The fast-moving planet Mercury is named after the Roman deity who acted as a messenger to the gods, in charge of regulating technology, travel, and communication.

By regulating both what we say and how we interpret what others say, it helps in the transmission of signals.

Each year, Mercury appears to move backwards in the sky three or four times.

Although other planets also go retrograde, this one has the ability to really shake things up – anything and everything connected to communication.

This period gives us time to think about our decisions in order to be prepared for whatever happens next.

The first happens when Mercury crosses the first celestial degree during the shadow phase before retrograde.

We can use this time to evaluate and correct mistakes.

When Mercury completes its final transit through the degree, during what is called a post-retrograde shadow, we have another opportunity to make progress.

In general, Mercury retrograde has effects that begin to manifest about two weeks before the planet begins to appear to travel back from earth and last up to two weeks after it stops.

This does not necessarily mean that you should get back with your ex.

It is only calling you to mend what is broken and give your heart a chance to forgive.

Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) they can turn Mercury Retrograde in their favor.
